Welcome to my blog! Here, I'll be sharing my world wanderings through my travel posts and book and film reviews. I hope my stories inspire you to explore the world as a traveller and a reader and film watcher.

The travel part of my blog is a space to share my personal journey of my world wanderings. My blogs posts read more like a journal than a list of travel recommendations as they explore my experiences of travelling. That said, I do share some travel tips, based on my experiences.

I've called my blog wandering the world as I see travel as a way to explore places and spaces and to experience the world. To me, travel is an opportunity to become immersed in the landscapes and the architecture of our planet's places and spaces, and try to understand people and the way they live. The part I love most about travel is just wandering around and taking in the vibe of new cities, towns, and landscapes. I have a terrible sense of direction, so a lot of my interesting wanderings come about from getting lost!

My first big travel adventure was in 1996. I had a break from travel when my kids were born before resuming in 2007. I launched this blog in 2023 and I am currently working my way through retrospective posts on all my travel wanderings. Stay tuned for new travel posts as I complete them.
In 2022 I started posting book and film reviews on Instagram. I'm now building my book and film wanderings from those posts and from the books and films I've read/seen since. Keep an eye out for new book and film reviews as I post them!
About me
My name is Andrea and I live in Brisbane, Australia
I am a Senior Learning Designer and Learning and Development Specialist in my professional life. I have a PhD in adult and experiential learning. I see travel as a way to experience the world and gain confidence in myself by navigating new and unfamiliar places. I am an introvert and I am also partially deaf. I am highly sensitive to my surroundings so sounds, smells, landscapes and architecture have a huge impact on me.
I am a history nerd (I have a degree in History), and I love to explore places of historical and cultural significance. I am also an avid reader and writer and I see books (and film) as another way to experience the world by immersing myself in stories that provide insight into people and places.
